London, View South
The view of London, looking South from Primrose Hill, under the warm glow of a peach sky.
The view of London, looking South from Primrose Hill, under the warm glow of a peach sky. This unique monotype (or ‘printed painting’) was created in one single sitting. Rebecca rolls etching inks onto plexiglass, then paints with card and brushes, removing areas with a cloth, cotton bud and other mark making tools.
“It’s a painterly process which forces me to work quickly before the ink dries resulting in a unique spontaneity and energy coming through in each print.”
Rebecca refers to her drawings and visual memory then starts with ink sketches, to warm up and help plan the composition.
So the process is a combination of careful preparation and free-flowing execution.
Unique print 1/1, 60 x 60cm
